Mr Mushtak Khan

Shri Mushtak Khan was born on 3rd May 1950. A Post Graduate in Fine Arts as well as in Inorganic Chemistry. Started career as Research Officer for Folk, Tribal and contemporary Arts at Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal (M.P.), India. Served Crafts Museum, New Delhi as Deputy Director (Design and Documentation) for more than twenty years. Nominated Member as folk & Tribal Art expert for Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 2002 – 2007. Provided consultancy services to TRIFED Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited for organizing exhibitions of tribal arts, for evaluation of art objects and as designer for conducting Design Development Workshops on tribal paintings. Associated with National Council of Educational Research and Training(N.C.E.R.T), New Delhi, Central Board of Secondery Education (CBSE), New Delhi, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), New Delhi for development of books on Heritage Crafts of India for Secondary level students. Associated with Council for Cultural Resources & Training (CCRT), New Delhi for Art & Craft teachers training. Researcher for project on the “Field Research for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage” organized by International Research Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in Asia-Pacific Region (Japan) under the auspices of UNESCO for the years 2011 and 2012.Extensive field work and documentation of tribal and folk arts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Odisha. Published more than 200 articles on Tribal and Folk Arts.
